Carter's Paintball Update Edition 2 - 08/29/07

This second edition of the Carter's Paintball Update is being brought to you by the letter "G". Lacking any real sponsors, the letter "G" has graciously stepped up to sponsor this spot. Usually feeling left out, the letter "G" is looking to make a comeback, and push the letter "M" back to its rightful spot down the alphabet. Because Gun is much more fun to say than Marker.



HEADLINES

1. EMR is holding a special one day scenario for Toys for Tots called the Toy Box Wars. Nov. 17th and 18th. Pre-register for this great cause at emrpaintball.com

2. EMR is also asking if Home Teams want to Host a Party for the 2008 season. Looks like most of the events are already taken and being hosted.

3. PSP's World Cup tickets went on sale. pspevents.com - Grandstand tickets are limited

4. Long time member AmericanPaintball, had his store in Rose City, MI robbed, and Palmer Markers where those on the list of missing items. Please check out the news section of MCB for which guns in particular. No list was posted as this writing, hopefully he will soon enough. Keep your eyes peeled.

5. Spyder is proud to announce the appointment of a new distributor in Brazil for Spyder products. Mercenarios Paintball will be the exclusive distributor of the full line of Spyder paintball markers and accessories such as the 30 BPS Fasta Loader, the new VS Tadao Board, and many other great products.

6. Palmer's can now fill HPA tanks. They've upgraded their system with a 4800 psi compressor. They'll also fill SCUBA tanks if Craig is on duty. Very cool!

7. The H8 Tactical Rifle (H8TR) moves closer to completion with the final parts in Alaska awaiting customs clearance.

8. NPPL is now offering playing scholorship for teams that want to play, but can't afford to enter. Forms and more information available at NPPL.com

9. The MQ-Valve is making a comeback. 100 have been / are being made and will be made available on mqvalve.com when ready. No pre-orders.

10. Viper paintball VIP event at Blanding MOUT facility in Starke, Fl. has been canceled.


MCB NOTES
--------------

1. I've been thinking of adding a Carter's Commando forum section. It would be a neat place to talk about upcoming events for our team. We also have other splinter groups: A Texas Division, and the Colorado Contingent. We'd make special sections for these folks too, and allow room to grow for other groups... And take over the world. Muhahahaha. Let me know what you think?

2. Picking up my Dangerous Power Threshold this weekend for a thorough review. Stay tuned for the review... Both in written and video form.

3. Since Chaos was in possession of said Threshold, I asked him to take a few pictures. OH MY is all I can say. Look under the Dangerous Power section to see them!

3. MCB has three tickets for the PSP World Cup event and is giving them away to some fine folks wanting to help cover the event. E-mail me for more info.

4. Another build off is starting September 1st through the 30th. The object is to take a pre 2k marker, and rebuild it, or customize it. Winners to be chosen after the end date. Look for the links in the MCB News Section of the site.

5. Added a PM search feature on the site. It was a record for me, with the request for the search, and the implementation and reply of said function being only 6 minutes apart. Talk about customer service.

6. MCB was mentioned in Paintball2Xtremes magazine and refer to it as "one of the hidden jewels of the internet paintball community". Thanks for the write up PB2X!

7. The Carter's Commando's next big event will be the Fall Defense of EMR's Castle. Hope to see as many folks as we can there.


GUN OF THE WEEK

My KL, serial number 17. Just got it back from BretG. This KP-3, tuned up and brush nickel by Palmer, lever action by BretG... And a gift from the MCB crowd, was just retouched up so the 3 1/2 oz in stock bottle now fits and works properly. I'm going to give this a first run test this weekend. Wanted to take the time to re-thank everyone... So Thank You. I'm looking forward to using this gun. Also, a thank you to BretG for making the final touches and making it possible.

The California Cobra was the first mass produced paintball gun to be marketed in a colored box. These were made by Rich Breen who had a machine shop in California
