I emailed PTP about this, and Forest wrote me back saying:

Hi Ivan,

We were actually the first company to actually sign a contract with Bud Orr allowing us to build modified Autocockers (1992/3). As such, WGP always supplied us with their factory specifications and provided us with technical drawings. This applied directly to the Autococker (more for our F/X Cockers) of course, BUT since we were using ‘Cocker threads on the Micromag we did have some cross over. We built to the AC drawings and had no issues what-so-ever. The thread is (I believe) basically a standard 15/16” – 20, but since it is a single point the specs are called out and built to that. However, many barrels companies simply measured the thread, took it at face value (15/16 – 20) and used the numbers “from the book” (J&J was typically good about getting the correct specs for example, but many others were not). That didn’t work out very well for a bunch of people and we (and WGP) loosened our body threads up a little to accommodate the “non-spec” barrels – seems like it should have been the other way around, but... In the meantime we bought in a 15/16” tap and modified all of our Micromags and F/X Cockers (those were WGP bodies), and re-tapped bodies for anyone that sent them in to us at no charge. That was a LONG time ago, and anyone building barrels now wouldn’t have an issue unless it was an older Autococker, or Micromag, etc.

Anyway… If you can find someone with a 15/16” – 20 tap you could also go that route – it literally just takes out enough material to make the threads a bit shiny – although because it is such a big tap it does feel a bit like wrist wrestling… If you send it back with the Python breech I’ll make sure that it fits. Just let me know when it’s on the way and we’ll be on the lookout for it.
