I know people say the stock barrel is good, but I think something might be wrong with mine. Looking down the bore it looks to have "flakes" and small pits throughout. Hrm...sounds like someone may have been a bit careless with it, then; not cleaned it properly or something. I'm assuming it's a used gun, correct? CCI barrels are "roller burnished" and on a couple I've seen there were very light lines that looked like very fine scratches running from end to end and regularly spaced around the interior surface. My current Phantom's barrel is like this and it shoots like a champ.
Actually, I have the original barrel from my first Phantom (it was 14", but I had it cut down to about 8" and re-crowned the tip myself) which could be yours for a ridiculously low cost...shoot me a PM if you're interested.
