Question Springs for Sheridans

I know I have seen a post somewhere about this before but I never saw an answer. My question is why can't or can you use nelson springs in a sheridan gun???
I know the rear cap/asa/rva would have to be drilled out and the cup seal might need something on it to keep the spring from dropping over it but aside from issues caused by the diameter of the springs what else??
This would be great for the strokers as the nel springs are softer, hence less effort/air pressure to cock the gun. It would also be an advantage on pumps to make the action smoother and make them easier to cock. I have some nel springs and a project sheridan but need to get a valve tool to try it. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
