Honestly, I find I watch most videos at 720 in the expanded (but not fullscreen) YouTube player. GoPro/Countour footage becomes pretty grainy at 1080p so I'm not even sure it's worth posting stuff up in that res. You could probably render the 720 out at 1080 and fool everyone.
