Wait, so the ram shaft just separates from the pump arm? Something is indeed amiss. Just so we're clear: The ram housing threads into the front block. The shaft, which is free-moving, threads into the pump arm. The pump arm threads into the back block. The back block is not attached to the cocking rod, but pushes it when the marker cycles back. The cocking rod threads into the hammer, and cocks the marker when the back block pushes out the cocking rod.
It is the ram shaft and pump arm we're talking about, right?
