The 113 is typically used in Regulators and as a Nelson Bolt oring. It has a thicker cross-section than a tank oring and a slightly wider OD. Phantom bolt orings are a 112, one size smaller.
I too was having troubles with the lelands not piercing (guess they're slightly shorter than Crossmans), so I'm using a 113 in the bottom of my bucket to prop it up just that extra little bit.
An alternative you could try, but I can't vouch for, is possibly removing the pierce pin assembly and adding an extra 009 to the threads to allow the pierce pin assy. to sit slightly further down (?)... not 100% sure that would work, but it's worth a shot
