You're actually looking to run between paint moving at less than 300 fps, right? Whatever it's traveling at by the time it gets to the end of a speedball field?
However, as you go further out, you should account for horizontal spread of the paint. If a hot cup of tea is good for an instantaneous jump 2 feet to the left, mediocre quality paint contains enough improbability to counteract your efforts at a simple calculation.
