Dye ran away from this design because of all the returns. And they specifically said they "ran away". Not only was the full auto an issue, the macro line fittings were crappy, and on occasion a piece of plastic would break off and the frame would no longer stay attached. It had a plethora of small issues and Dye didn't want to surround their name with that kind of maintenance nightmare.
This is also why Dye went to steal braided hoses on the 2011 rail, and why they simplified the bolt system in those markers to make them more reliable than the previous rails. In their words they wanted to be known for "reliability".
