This equates to always just having one camera, where as if you bought a special purpose camera you'd have two... If you really want to take footage, I'd just bite the bullet and shell out for the extra camera... You're already in for the investment with what you have. And there is the significant other factor as well when you come home with a destroyed point and shoot
This if you're willing to chance that you won't take a back or side hit it's not a bad idea but honestly just buy a gopro or contour and be done with it. Those are designed for what you're doing and the cases around them both will shrug off a point blank paintball hit like it was nothing.
