Basically this speech:
I had high expectations that I would be successful just because I felt smarter than everyone else. At 18 I figured I'd show up in the adult world and life would beat a path to my door. Some seriously tough times and obstacles came instead. I got married and started a family and got walloped by bad luck and bad decisions. My wife stood behind me and encouraged me to get off the ground, punch life in the nuts, and fight and claw for what I wanted.
I saw this just this week and it's applicable to my life and what my 18yr old self needed to hear:
Keep moving forward folks, no matter how hard life hits you.
