The field was once in normal operation but has been shut down for a few years, they open up for the two Fledgling events, Spring & Fall.
The closest "real" town is Limon CO.
There is a large open field for camping right next to the field of play.
Kinda hard to explain but here goes:
There are trees that line the boundaries forming a large u shape with the open end of the u facing South (generaly). A creek runs along the North side of the field. The center of the field has two large ponds with roads circling them (great for the tanks). On the south side of the ponds is a small village with structures. South of the village is wide open, just a few small bunkers. The bases are normally at the east and west ends. Except for the banks around the ponds the field is flat (cow pasture). There are small bunker complexes in the tree-lines.
With the ponds in the center there are 2 main choke-points. The area near the field entrance between the ponds and the creek, and the village. The narrow causeway between the ponds is also a hot-spot. It's a fairly open field so there's alot of shooting.
I'll see if i can scare up one of the old game maps-
Well, I think my game maps are on my home comp - but here's a link to Haingernaid's photo-album
Attack on the Hive, BattleGround Time, and Earth Ender were all at the Agate field:
