With the return spring and liked it just fine. I tend to prefer using return springs since I pump with my fingers on the end of the pump handle and do not normally hold the pump when shooting [hench why I never use AT when I'm playing]. My only "issue" with pump stroke is it "feels" longer than my snipers. I've yet to measure it but that is what it feels like but now playing a whole scenario with it I've gotten used to it.
