BIG problem with that statement. A transistor doesn't carry out an operation. What it does is either block or allow current to flow from drain to source. It's an on/off switch. How that turns on or off depends on the transistor type.
The news is that they can make a very small transistor. Okay, so? Moore's law is going to take a leap now that they've discovered this new kind of transistor. They still can't build a true positronic matrix like in Star Trek that is capable of intelligent and autonomous thought. It can try and mimic it, yes, but actually emulate it? Nope. And I know that they never will be able to do it. It takes something MORE than just a neurological computer to make a human actually human. It takes a soul. Creating THAT is something we can NEVER do. Only God can do that.
