| Loctite is not necessary, and is not used in most industries, that being said, most people with scuba tanks and the like are not 14 year old kids. This is why I think many of the people advocate the use of loctite.
My Hydrotester tells me Red loctite can put too much torque on the threads when taking it out, as you cannot use heat on the tank. They also say that enough Blue stuff will do the same so they don't use any.
Personally I put two drops of blue on, but it is not needed, I just prefer the extra protection.
If you guys are really worried about it, then don't use ASA's I never bother with loctite with my Raptor Rex, and why? It is never subjected to torque that could unscrew it, seriously if safety is the concern that is the way it should be. |
