| Back in the 80's, I remember ordering an anodized tank from TASO along with a new on/off valve. It came unassembled. Being a typically ignorant teenager, I just screwed on the valve as tight as I could get it and brought to my next game. Of course, back then, there was very little if any "certified" anything in the paintball world. My buddy hooked up the tank to fill, filled it and then started unscrewing it. Well, he was unscrewing away when he noticed that the valve was coming out of the tank. A few more turns and that thing would have been a missile! His eyes got as wide as saucers! He tightened it up and I loctited (new verb) it down after it was empty. It took a quite a few games to empty a seven ounce tank back then when you'd fire fewer than 200 rounds a DAY!
So, I really don't know what the answer is but I'd be shocked to learn that Loctite isn't a part of the solution for most valves and tanks. |
