umm, if he doesn't know the input pressure, how would setting the pressure at 300psi be good, then fine tune it? also, how could it NOT be consistant if it was set, then "fine tuned" to the best operating pressure? that's like saying that a gun works fin at 800psi, but setting it to the best operating pressure would be worse? no, don't think so. besides, by your way, your just going in the opposite direction. instead of raising the pressure from 0 to operating pressure, your going from 300psi down till its starved. not the wisest, since some guns are pressure sensitive. you can blow a noid easily by going high and turning it down.
