This is why I hate all the companies trying to venture into markets w/o expertise in said area. All the companies are trying to maximize profits with low quality goods is really destroying the overall market. This is another reason I am anti-establishment and reverting back to the old school roots.

Those bolts may have been replaced at some point - they should have been at least a Grade 5 bolt. Occasionally an aftermarket u-joint can come with replacement bolts, but most of those are not up to snuff.
Stories like one above are the reason I don't want to run HPA on my stuff. I may break down this winter if my Typhoon won't run on CO2, but I'm not switching unless I absolutely have to (and even then I might just rent a tank. Let the other guys worry about it - I've got my own health and my wife and kids to think about.)
