I think you misunderstood him. He wasn't talking about reloading at all.
As for the exposed bolt worries, just make sure you clean your top tube after every day of play, and possibly your ram. As for dirt/grime getting into the deeper internals such as the solenoid or valve, there's no need to worry. The explusion of air though the valve practically seals off the guts of the marker from the outside world, unless something comes through your bottomline.
