As in my last post, I think MKW is essentially "MKDS v2.0"

They added the bikes and changed the boost mechanics - I think for the better. Whereas with MKDS the fastest thumb wins, MKW actually rewards good racing technique. Line up the turns, hold your line, slide into, boost out (rather than jump, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, jump, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, jump, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle...)

I was never fond of snaking anyhow, though I could do it on many tracks. I used Mario in standard ROB, too, which is unusual because most snakers used DB/PG3k. I was still only a two-star racer, though.

MKW changed most things for the better. They kept the best maps from the series, added some really great new ones, changed others around just a bit to be compatible with the new mechanics and put in some neat new items (namely the super mushroom from NSMB DS). MKW is everything MKDS was and better. The WiFi is better, the multiplayer is better (12 karts as opposed to just 4), the time trial and ghost sharing system is excellent (want to see how the top ranked driver got his time? download the ghost data and race against it!) and really is just a nicer, more polished game both graphically and control-wise.

The sensitivity on the Wiimote is exactly where it needs to be. It's not too sloppy, it's not too tight. You can control where you want to go without much over or understeer after you get the hang of it - which only takes a few laps if you're a MK veteran. Additionally, you can steer by tilting the controller either left-right or up-down. That is, the steering works both if you have the top of the controller facing up (as you would normally hold it - think Excite Truck) or facing you (as in a steering wheel). The control system is simple and everything is within reach of normal-length thumbs.

I think this is the best game the Wii has out right now.
