Just a quick FYI, had the stock class tube been made out of titanium it would actually weigh more than an aluminum tube. For comparision, 1" round bar 6AL/4V GRADE 5 titanium weight/lineal foot is 1.5355 pounds. 1" round bar 6061-T6 aluminum weight/lineal foot 0.9232 pounds.

You often hear people say that titanium is strong as steel but light as aluminum. A more accurate description would be that it's strong as steel and half the weight (it's actually 40% lighter).

Is the feed block plastic (ABS or some such) or delrin? If it's delrin then I doubt that it would crack easily. Delrin has a high tensile strength and should hold up well in that situation.
