| Sounds like you've got massive reg creep. You want to use Dow 55 on the insides of the stock reg. Don't lube the shim stack. Just the O-rings, and clean any dirt out of there.
Also inside the top of the adjustment screw is another small screw, you're going to want to remove that and replace it with some loctite on the threads. That should help the reg creep, you'll get much better recharge and performance.
