While I agree that the sheeple in this country are too paranoid about seeing firearms, I can understand it to some extent when it's a firearm (or look-alike) that's probably not just someone's personal carry arm. I see a guy with a .38 in a pancake holster and I think undercover/off duty or private citizen with a personal defense arm. I see a guy running down the street with an M4, and I start thinking something nefarious might be going on.

Probably a MAC-10, think SS carries those still, right? I would call that a machine pistol and not an assault weapon, but apparently they think the secret service is part of the FBI too...so not much credence there.
