There are a billion sites on how to time a Cocker, plus a video on Youtube about it - try Google, should bring up lots of info.
As far as upgrades, get another barrel or two, but leave the rest of it alone - those pneumatics are great just the way they are, and the internals are perfect unless you plan to go for ultra-low pressure. Another reg might be an idea - it's hard to adjust the stock one - but the stocker does work quite well, especially with CO2.
