Figure this is a good place to ask this question. I've recently aquired a couple pre 2K sheridan springed cockers (all origional) and I want to keep them that way. I've got them all broken down and cleaned up. next step - re- assembly. to do this I need the proper o-rings. cocker O-ring kits are a mess! and none of them seem to fit anything so heres the Q's.
Someone care to give an O-ring Primer? the hardware store lists by ID, OD and thickness - usually Metric, always black and almost never the right ones. then i hear things on the field like "oh thats a number 14" and everypbody has a different opinion on what to replace them with - neoprene, silicone - how many are there?! this could really be helpfull - to me at least
Model specific. anybody have a proper list for that particular cocker? even better - a good O-ring source for them? Is it better to replace stuff with the black ones instead of the clear/yellowy ones? some people seem to think so..
I see big kits for sale with a full range of rings, - (all black) is one of these worth it - WGP must have used standard available rings I just can't ever seem to find them!
