Haha yeah Simon... and yeah, I'm entirely sick of the SP BS too... I wonder if it's part of company policy. You fill out a job application, and theres a little box next to "Willing to argue against the known laws of physics to promote company merchandise"...

I did however have a funny thought... Suppose a gun kicks up when you pull the trigger, could this make the ball roll down the BOTTOM of the barrel, inducing topspin? Maybe making it arc down...
Perhaps a linear "kick" could reduce this, and give a flatter trajectory, as compared to a "kick" that brings the muzzle up. Fire a marker upside down, and maybe it will "kick" the barrel down, and give a backspin. Who knows.

(Ok, now I'm gonna run and hide, cuz I might have just backed up a ridiculous claim)
