Both the Tony Stark, and Obidiah characters were fantastically acted. Jeff bridges especially. He usually plays some sort of hardass, but seeing him as an evil villian (and not dorky like in "Vanishings") was a real treat.
Robert Downey also seemed so well suited. Probobly a little to well suited, which may hurt future sequels though.
If I was going to complain, which is my perogative on the internet, I didn't like:
1- Talking robots. This was a PG-13 movie.
2- No real villians. Just a "surprise" villian at the end
3- Preachy anti-military message. A little to heavy-handed.
4- Short on plot. Took forever to get to Ironman
The robot thing was most iritating, though all science fiction movies NEED a way to explain what you see on the screen. Usually a dumb assistant who asks questions, or a voice over, or someone who simply talks out loud. Without that, you end up with a Scifi movie like Solaris.

4. Can't put too much plot into an intro
