Bouncing off the ground or a bunker is a tricky call. If the ground caused the ball to actually break then it traveled and hit you leaving a mark. Your best hope is the ref actually seen it break before it got to you. Technically it should break on you, not your bunker or surrondings. Most of the time you are going to loose that call, right or wrong thats the way it is. Just like breaking on a branch but still leaving a hit on you.

I think the rule that was quoted states the "being shot" phrase. I do believe that is put in there to eliminate the "Bunker Rub" calls.

As far as quarter size spray.. I have seen plenty of people with a lot more than a quarter size. But being in position and watching them I knew they were not directly hit. Yeah I could of called them, but it was obvious it was spray and not hits. Once again its what the ref sees, or more importantly what he doesn't see. If they don't see you getting sprayed like a car at "Maco" most likely they will call you out if your hand, mask, whatever is covered.. even if you didn't take a hit.
