Yes, you "can" screw the 3.5 oz into the VA, but you'll probably have to mess with the springs to get a tolerable velocity out of it, and it probably won't be extremely consistant. A good valve with a good spring setup might keep you within 10 to 15 fps variance between shots...and when you get the tank cold, your velocity will drop considerably. Personally, I prefer a bit of regulation so that I can set the gun up to use less than bottle pressure. It allows my tank to get cold and still shoots at pre-set velocity. I think two of my snipers are set up to run on 300 psi and the other is setup to run on bottle pressure...the one with bottle pressure springs is rather stiff to pump too.
