If it's the pressure regulator adjustment then DEFINETLY NO! ! ! ! ! If you tighten it you may well cause serious damage to the internals. It's supposed to be wherever it needs to be to get the right pressure output.

Try moving it. If it's evenly stiff for a turn or two then it's the adjuster and you need to go easy with it. If it's able to spin loosely like a screw coming out then it's likely not the adjuster and it's trying to hold the bottom shell to the rest of the reg.
