I had one of those early 68 Carbines . . . and it worked like a champ till that older design valve took a dump. Tippmann customer service upgraded the gun to the later valve design. A few months later that same paintgun had a dramatic failure in its bolt - sadly at an indoor field when I plugged a guy from about 3ft away. I felt so bad, the guy dropped like he'd been shot for real, and one helluva bruise. We tried chronoing the gun and it wouldn't shoot paint. Thats when we realized what had happened. Tippmann replaced the whole paintgun then, they didn't have to but they did.

I've always had a fondness for that design. Even with having had some "issues" with my early production one, I found them to be really solid.
