Well I've read that 12 Grams such as Crossman are shorter than ones like Leland. If you have ever seen Leland 12g, it has the 3 different levels of "diameter", the smallest part, then a slighter bigger part, and finally the greatest diameter in the greatest portion of the 12g. I believe Crossman are also harder to puncture, and because they can move around in the 12g chamber, it doesn't help pierce them....
