Or the trigger pin may be threaded out too far. AGD's tech manuals usually say that when gassed up, the trigger pin should be ~1/16" from the trigger when it's all the way forward (stick a 1/16" allen wrench in there to check), and when the trigger is pulled, the trigger should stop ~1/16" from the back of the frame.

If the trigger rod was out too far then he'd most likely have some serious issues. Probably just the safety...

I have my Benchmark frame set up the same way on my RT, firing w/ the safety on. Works great for me. Very short trigger pull and just about eliminates short-stroking.

So is there no "slack" or "take-up" before you get resistance from pulling the trigger?

A tiny bit. I have slightly less than 1/16" gap between the rod and trigger.
