My own private sidearm

Those of you who know me know that I am a whore for all things MicroMag. I've owned most of the factory anno patterns at one time or another. I've owned most of the generations of Micros. My only electronic marker is an E-Micro. It's a sickness really.

A while back I made a really nice mag sidearm. It was elegant, simple, and just didn't make me happy at all. Something about the feel was off, and I ended up selling it at a price that pretty much only covered the cost of my materials.

Then I got an evil thought... Maybe I just needed my sidearm to be a MicroMag... So I started getting parts together.

10 round spring fed clip,

5 inch Hammerhead Shark tooth barrel with fin kits for large bore and small bore paint,

sidesaddle bucket changer for the 12 grams,

and dragonwood 45 grips round it out.

I'm really looking for a Benchy single trigger frame for it, but for now, the double does ok. I cut off the centerfeed, milled a continuation of the sight rail into the parts of the top of the gun where the centerfeed used to be, and modded the magazine to mate to the top of the marker. It's all finished off with a nice dust duracoat finsh to cover up a lot of the field-dings that were on the original piece.

Hopefully this one can keep me happy.

The reg is an ANS Phase II that's been duracoated to match. The ASA for the bucket changer is a PTP "trashcan" vert adapter for regular mags. I had a system worked out to run the original PTP MicroMag vert adapter as a horizontal adapter, but the barrel was so short that it made the bucket changer stick out past the end of the barrel. This method isn't optimal for my asthetic tastes, but it's probably more efficient than running through the hard line would have been.

So... how many shots per 12 gram?

I love it. I too have had a firm hard on for all things micromag. They are a perfect pistol platform.
