Xmag and Space blaster

Hi everyone

So i am bored, got an xmag that I may milled into a space theme (My ptp is going to get milled to resemble an SFL).

Now the question is, in those old space blaster, you know the one you play with as a kid that make the "pew pew" sound.

If i take out that chip and speaker i should be able to connect it to the xmag right? But where should i connect it so that when the marker fire it activate the chip?

I am not sure if the HES have enough voltage to power the chip, and putting it between the solenoid may reduce too much power?

Thanks

PS: Why do it? Because I am bored and I think i can make it work.

Hmm i don't think that will work since it will provide constant power to the speaker setup. I guess i need to find a cheap 99 cent store and find a space gun first.

ANd yes I am milling an Xmag, nothing drastic mind you, I am going to keep the overall body shape the same just adding window and pockets (decorative kind).

Doesn't the board have a warp/intelli-feed connection too? this would provide power and an on/off switch. I tried searching briefly for it but couldn't find anything yet.

Hmm... I'm also concerned about your milling

use a reed relay off the solenoid to close the switch for the sound chip. The solenoid will give you a longer activation time vs the warp port. There is a port above the noid that should provide the same sig as the noid at 18v.

That's the original NOID plug that was never used because there where issues sourcing parts. I have the crimp tool and the plugs for that socket. Let me know if you need a plug.

Oh and this is probably the wrong attitude, but go ahead and hack up your XMag... it will make my three more valuable.
