Powertube Spacers - Tuning?

I just installed a power tube spacer in my micromag. It had a spring in the powertube, and I decided I would rather have a spacer.

Anyways, so I was kind of told to start with the smallest spacer, and work my way up until it stopped leaking down the barrel. I started with the smallest spacer, so I put in the .215 spacer, and it didn't leak down the barrel. The mag shot just fine! Did I do it properly?

That got me thinking, other than stopping the leaking down the barrel, are there any advantages/disadvantages with the sizing of the spacers? Or do they have just one purpose of sealing the bolt in the power tube. If I tune it with other spacers, can I get any performance benefits?

Thanks!

There are VERY minor efficency gains to be had. Let me stress the very. Probably a couple balls one way or another.

You did just exactly right. If you're in a hurry, you can almost always get one working properly with a .220.

Thanks for the responses guys. Glad to know there's not much of a benefit for the different spacers and that I did it right!
