I cant tell....Update

Okay so in the past few months I've been piecing together a stock class pump mag, got a Cerbius Innovations pump kit, sent my body and rail out for milling earlier in the week, and since i cant do anything till my body and rail is completed, Id figure I would de-volumize my dump chamber to get more shots off a 12g.

Ive read that some valves are not laser welded, some are only in spots, and some all the way around.

Just looking at my valve I cant see if its welded or not....
So I completely stripped my valve apart, rapped a piece of thick leather around the powertube put a wrnch on the leather, took a butane torch to loosen up the locktite around the dumpchamber, once warm tried giving it a twist, no luck. The leather just spun around the powertube once it got the slightest bit warm. Went out to the garage picked up and old tire tube and cut a strip, wraped it around the powertube 2-3 times, the rubber didnt spin on the powertube, clamped the wrench on. Heated up the dumpchamber once again gave it a twist, no luck.

So Im assuming my dumpchamber is welded all the way around cause I cant see a difference in the seam...

Let me know your thoughts...greatly appreciated.

Please leave your poor valve alone, it is most certainly welded.

My Mag has a screw on powertube/dump chamber and it is *very* easy to open (assuming someone did not loctite it) as it only has a single o-ring.

I saw a post recently - either here or on BEO - where someone used a jewelers hacksaw to do this mod. I searched but couldn't find it but you may have better luck.

Get ahold of practice target here. he has all the equipment to properly open up that powertube on the weld and not damage anything.
