| Class Clown Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Lincoln, Nebraska | the difference in valves... ???
i've never owned a mag, and should have one on the way soon. just by looking i don't see much difference in the automag and minimag. the body looks a little different. and the valve says "minimag" on it. then there's the micromag. again, just looks different. it's smaller. and the valve says "micromag". i've seen classic valves on them all before. and some of the others on classic mags. so i ask, what is the difference between the three valves and also, the classic and minimag? |

You've figured out the difference - just different names engraved on them. All the valves are interchangeable. With the exception of the R/T Pro (I think).

No functional difference in the valves, just different labeling. The RT, Retro, E-Mag, and X valves are different than the classic valves, but the are interchangeable (other than the original RT) Difference between the mini and classic mags, is just the body. The mocromag has a different body, takes cocker barrels, and doesn't require a rail. Edit Flunkin beat me to it

If it's in good shape. I would expect it to fetch a little bit more if someone with a micro-mag and a classic valve wanting matching parts. I wouldn't expect to get more than $10-$20 extra though.

minimag valves have 4 stars proclassic valves have one star I don't know the others... Each star can get stamped for a free valve rebuild from AGD, with a 60 (I think) day warranty covering the rebuild

I heard that also, don't know if its just a rumor or not. I also heard X-valves come with a "star" also, but its not engraved on the valve just recorded by the serial number on the valve. Again not sure if thats a rumor or not.
