CL Snag and 2 Questions

Hoping to find my camera soon so I can snap a picture, and failing that I'll try to get one with my phone.

I picked up an Automag from Craigslist thinking that I was getting an alright deal, just a classic valve with a large expansion chamber and after-market barrel. What I got appears to be an extreme case of brand loyalty.

This mag has:
A.N.S. 3D Phase II Barrel
A.N.S. Phase II Expansion Chamber
A.N.S. Phase II Valve Back
A.N.S. Velocity Ajuster
A.N.S. Bolt
A.N.S. On/Off Top
A.N.S. ASA
and my personal favorite
A.N.S. ANuS Barrel Plug

I was kind of caught of guard by the amount of A.N.S. stuff on it, (having only found some of it after taking it apart to fix a leak) not to mention the steel braided lines with quick disconnects. It also has the same rail as this except in black:

(Marker belongs to Mingusx, I just borrowed it from the AGD picture thread)

This leads me to my first question, which is if the rail is just a fancy factory option, or if it's after-market.

My second question stems from the fact I don't particularly care for the mis-matched valve look. My main complaint is having half of the classic logo on it.
Is there a good way to remove the laser engraving? I was only planning on removing the AGD Classic part of it, the illustrations and serial number would be left in-tact.

If you took the time to read this, thanks. Also, for those who must know about the deal:
Automag (with afore mentioned accessories)
12oz and 20oz Co2
Case of Paint
12v Revvy and VL200
Case
$60

The rail is a TASO aftermarket rail. Most of them had a slot milled in them to accept AGD pump kits. Not a bad snag for $60! The ANS stuff was highly sought after back in the early days of the Mag because their valve back had an 8 hole venturi mod as well as the bolt. The venturi mod made the velocity more consistent as well as the flow of air by filling the dump chamber (front half of the valve) faster.

Try polishing the valve, but it will probably remove ALL the laser

I particularly like polished valves, AGD doesn't do free repairs anymore so the stars and serial numbers are useless in my book

Thank you for the info guys. I just tore it apart and checked, no pump mag milling . Ah well, maybe I'll keep this gun. I'll try polishing the valve, hopefully just the .68 Automag/Classic Part.

If you use a good metal polish like SIMICHROME polish (made by Happich), it should take little effort to produce a shine and remove the laser coloring. Expect to pay about $10 for a 1.76 oz tube. A little bit goes a looooooong ways!

I think I almost have her running the way it should. It was leaking when I held the trigger in, but I replaced all the On/Off O-rings and that fixed that issue.

The only thing I've got a problem with now is that I'm having an issue with the gun resetting after every shot.

I'll pull the trigger and it fires fine, but instead of the sear (the part I can see behind the trigger) isn't fully coming forward every shot. It occasionally does, but I have to be really quick on the release, and that doesn't even fix it some of the time. Occasionally the bost will stop halfway forward and air will rush out of the barrel. I replaced the power-tube O-ring and put a new spring on it, but it didn't change anything.

I'm guessing this is a case of bolt stick and I need a spacer kit (seeing as I have a PT spring). Can anyone confirm or deny my suspicions before I buy one?

Few things to ck.

See if your rail bushing is installed.

Don't wrench down your grip screw, it should be snug.

Your field strip should be finger tight only.

Manually oil that beast. Pull it apart and oil every part individually.

Did you install a unused bolt spring?

If your Power Tube spring was warn you would know it. It wouldn't seal.

Seemed to have solved the problem, thank you for the help. Anyone know what a good sale price for this gun might be with everything mentioned and a parts kit?
