Scary thermo reg mod

So...

I always wanted fins for a classic regulator for CO2. So I measured the reg thickness and some asa's and figured I would donate 1/8" of an aluminum reg back to my theory.

It's this one with the new reg.

It's a dedicated CO2 machine now. I devolumized the dump like Loguzzz and Flyingpootang,

30 Shots from a classic valve w/ a 12G

Between the aluminum and the fins, I estimate that the heat transfer of this reg is about fifteen times (*actually 20*) better than the stock stainless reg. It usually runs with a 9oz bottle, so it has had the opportunity to get chilled.

I had talked to Rednecksniper about doing this for me, but I decided to use it as practice.

I'll probably ano it at some point. I was just testing it out today.

The grooves are arranged to keep the z-pin.

Did you do the engine turning yourself or Did you have it done. Looks great. If you did it yourself was it hard around the round body?

The round body is why I did it in the first place. That was my first body. My son doesn't want it redone. I get to decide what happens to this reg though.

Jeweled mini-mag body

We've been working with the pump for a while, getting it really tight. He plays with a 50 APP loader and one of those stubby JT 9 oz bottles. It handles well. IIrc, the new reg should be about 1/4 of the weight of the old one. I went back and checked, the thermal conductivity alone on aluminum would be 15 times better; the fins will add more than 50% to the surface area. We should be able to see something from that, except I de-volumized it at the same time.
