I've been debating on getting a 48 or 68 ci tank so thanks everyone.

Thanks for making this point as its exactly what I had in mind. I havent played a scenario game before, but some of the filds in my area have woodsball fields that are a pretty good hike from the air station I need to be prepared for 2-3 games.

I play with a few who shoot mags and get around 950 shots per 68/4500. They have to refill after every game. I had a Spyder that was more efficient than that.

All my mags minus my pumps have lvl 10's with the red spring installed and can get that deep into the tank

Typical working pressure of a mag is 375-400 PSI.

The formula someone taught me long ago rings true for my RT mags.. about 15 shots per ci for a 4500 psi tank.

So..

68 x 15 = 1020
50 x 15 = 750
48 x 15 = 720

It's 10 shots per ci for a 3K tank.

Tell them to underbore.

EDIT: Though not too much if they're using Level 10 bolts. Just use the tightest bore possible in any case.

That seems about right because my local field only fills to 3k and I get a about 4 hoppers out of my evo3 (not fiiling it COMPLETELY each time). Because all their fill stations are self fill, and they dont want people filling their 3k tank to 4.5k

Yeah, That's why if I want to run more than 4 pods and a hopper I use an 88ci tank or larger. Because you hardly EVER get a full 4500 fill at fields around here.

Dmex, you may have had a different experience or maybe your mag is just set up better than mine is, but I have definitely seen substantial shootdown as I hit 1000 psi on the tank gauge. Now, those gauges are notoriously inaccurate anyway, so for all we know we're both hitting the same pressure but our gauges are reading differently. Regardless, once I start getting shootdown is when I start looking for an opportunity to leave the field without immediately hindering my team, because I know its not going to be long before I'm out of air completely.

You have any other place on the marker to install a gauge?

Your absolutely right on the gauges. Optimal performance for a mag is 800psi so you should still be rocking the trigger at 1000psi. My guess would be your gauge is off by a bit. Replace it and you'll probably see yourself shooting in the upper 600...low 700 range during your shoot down phase.

On mine. Anything below 650, the marker starts lobbing balls a good 30'-40', then the chuffing and spurting commences.

People are getting 1000+ shots with a 68/4500?!?!?! I use the smallest insert on my classic RT w/LVL X, which fits my paint very snugly and I get no more than a loader and 2.5 to 3 pods before I have to get more air......
