What is the quickest, easiest way to break the feed neck weld on a SS mag body?

I've got a wild urge to tinker. Need help to execute my idea. Thank you!

There is only one way to break a weld use force. now if you want the easiest ways to remove something welded you can drill the weld, cut the weld with a die grinder or use plasma to cut around the weld.

I would say grind the weld, then hit it with a hammer.

Hmm... I think I'll dremel around the weld then. I'm going to make a vertical feed hole, so I can just cut widthwise across the top of the body first, using the width of the original neck as a guide, and finally dremel it off by cutting under it.

Most mag feed necks are silver soldered on... not knowing which mag you are "customizing" its hard to advise.

you're not going to break that weld with out nerfing the body

if its silver soldered you could use a torch to heat the neck/body till its red, then it will fall off, but any other parts in the area with the same temper solder could shift too.

Its such a clean union, i would hacksaw off the neck, then file down the remainder.

for a feed neck, you might figure out how to use a stub of a neck as a mechanical fastening point.

I had feedneck stuck on a powerfeed body that I just couldn't get off, so I tried to hammer it and knocked the whole powerfeed clean off the body. The body was old/painted so maybe that had something to do with it.
