AA Raptor

Has anybody used the AA Raptor or Raptor Rex on a RT or X valve, how does it do? Is there sufficient output to RT well?

I used a raptor rex all summer, it would RT my x-valve over 20bps (chrono verified) no problem if I let it.

Well seeing as it's basically a Automag reg that is turned into a bottle reg, I don't think you will be let down.

The advice I have always been told is to NEVER use the adjuster to turn the reg off. Purchase an inline on/off to turn pressure to the gun/hose off. Otherwise they have a huge adjustment range.

I was told that adjusting it too 'fast' could cut/ruin seals inside. So I always just took my good ol time opening and closing it.

And yeah, if you want to rebuild one, just buy a classic valve rebuild kit.. everything is the same.

I actually saw rebuild kits on firstcallpaintball.com for $12.95 so I think I'm going to snag on of them invade I need one in the future. They are also selling the Raptor Rex for the same price, I might buy one of those as well for parts.

Buy a naked tank in need of hydro and use the reg.. you could always set it up to run remote. I think that is what I will eventually do.

On a related topic, what cradles can be used with Raptor Rexs and where can you get them?

I have a kapp drop zone cradle that I use. I don't think they still make them but you can usually find them in the bst forum.

I was picking up Raptor Rex's off of ebay last year for about $5 each. Half of them needed some new orings because they'd been sitting forever, but they were new.
