ULE

Does a ULE body work on a regular AM/MM rail?

You've got to knock the twistlock pin out of the rail, if its in there. After that it works fine.

If you have a bench vise, it is a little nicer to block it up and press it out. Some of them are really tight and you might want to keep your twistlock pin from getting beat up for future use. I had one that would just drive itself into the wood block I had over it. Some of them fall out.

Kind of a related question, are there any issues using a classic rail with an x-valve with ULT?

Edit: Thanks for the quick response.

You shouldn't have any issues with this setup.

Regarding knocking out the pin.

There is the pin and the pin housing. The whole housing needs to be tapped out. This is the stainless piece about 1/4" diameter and contains the smaller pin/spring.

From experience, these things are tapered and only come out one way. I forget which, but I banged on it for quite a while before i figured this out. Yes, I felt stupid, but fortunately I did not hurt the rail. Once I went at it from the other end, it came right out.

It comes out the side the body sits on.
