mag rail compatability questions

so I got my pump kit in and there is no way it will fit on my current rail, so it looks like I need a classic rail. couple questions:

-ive heard you need a classic sear to match classic rails? is this true or will the sear I have for my tac-1 work?

-how long is a classic rail?

-is there any reason a classic rail will not fit my tac-1 body?

-are there any classic rails out there that came milled? where would I find one?

thanks!

I'm moving this to the AGD section... you should get an answer quicker that way.

you will need a classic sear

-how long is a classic rail?
?? don't know for certain. it is shorter than an RT/Emag style rail

-is there any reason a classic rail will not fit my tac-1 body?
no reason whatsoever. It will work.

there are a few classic rails that are factory pump milled. search the b/s/t threads here and on automags.org. You might find either a factory milled rail or custom milled. They're not always easy to find. There are a number of airsmiths/machinists willing to do the modification though and I do not think it's that expensive.
you will need to have your Tac1 body pump milled too if it is not already done. Lookup XM15. Not sure if he's a member here but he's doing these exact mods on AO for a decent price.

thanks!

Tac One body will fit a classic rail , just the body will stick out past the rail in the front by about an inch and a half or two. RT rails only use rt sears and classic rails only use classic sears . The sear pin is what's different between the two . Classic rail looks to be in the neighborhood of 7 15/16" to 8" long . Not sure if AGD made pump rails . I think they might have , but again , not sure .

Hope that helps

EDIT : I would have been the first reply if I didn't have to find a rule to measure that rail !

Don't forget - your body also needs to be milled to make it compatible with a pump kit.
