Which single trigger?
I'm about to buy a Classic valved Automag and I was wondering about the trigger-frames.
I want a single and I see there's the original metal one from AGD, the carbon-fiber one and a benchmark 45-single.
Any comments on the feel of each of these? I'm specifically interested in how smooth the pull is and each of their abilities to be short-stroked. I basically have my choice right now of whatever style I want.
The benchmark single 45 with sticky 3's. That's the greatest feeling grip ever for a mag.
Benchy is too wobbly and loose in my opinion, I preferred the metal AGD, the CF? one was a little too light. the Dye singles were pretty nice too but harder to find.... (I have 5-6 of em....)
The stock cf frame and the gripstyx single trigger frame are my favorites.
I have a chrome Dye single trigger w/ Powerlyte aluminum trigger. Dye never made a single trigger for the Automag, only the frame. The Powerlyte trigger works perfect and is nice and wide too. The frame has never been used in a game, only mounted on a marker.
Let me know if you are interested.
Benchmark trigger frames for the automag have always been kind of steered clear of. They increase the trigger pull length very significantly and are loose as a noodle. They make the trigger less "hard" but definately just kinda smooshey.
I remember when you could buy benchy 2 finger frames for the mag for like 10 dollars basically new because of these reasons.
Stock mag frame is great. Otherwise, get a double and shoot faster than your tippmann instead of slower :D
I love the CF frame, the rubber grips are phenomenal, if it's too light, go die cast
Thanks everyone. I'll stick with the stock AGD frames.
Aqua-Scummm is right on both counts. I use my semi like a pump - single, deliberate shots. If I wanted to "rip strings" I'd get an electro or an Automag with a reactive trigger. I'm just looking for a comfortable, light, crisp single trigger for a Classic-valved 'mag. ;)
BTW: do the Classic single trigger frames take Sheridan-style grips? I have a pair of PMI's from a single Blazer gripframe I'd like to put on the 'mag.
Sheridan grips will fit but not exactly.
Mags use the Sniper / early cocker style grips. SP made wood grips, vl made rubber grips, stuff like that.
I only mentioned a tippmann for speed comparison.
AGD rubber grips will be more comfortable than PMI rubbers that dont fit quite right.
Sheridan frames are shorter, IIRC, so AGD grips will overhang a Sheridan frame, and sheridan grips will cut short on an AGD frame
