Robertsr Micromag Ikea foregrip

Would it be possible to get some more detailed pictures and discription of what you did to fit the piece of Ikea bookshelf to the micromag to make a foregrip. With the PTP stock drying up this might be an option for those of us looking for a fore grip.

I might have some of the remaining forgrips (bookshelf sections) in the shop. The cylinder was hollow up to about 1 1/2 inches from the end and solid from there. I "milled" out the 45* channel for the attachment with an angle grinder and eyeballed the angle of the screw hole. I countersunk the hole with a large drillbit, and it was secure.

From there it was an easy step to drill a hole in the side of the thing for the gas line. All I did was run steel braid with an elbow up the inside of the hollow leg/forgrip, and screw another elbow to it. The elbows pinched the curve of the tube on both sides, and the tension was enough that it never shook or rattled.

I matched it with some brushed aluminimum hardware on the bottom and voila! Done deal.

Believe it or not, I did the same thing with an old no name spyder barrel...

This one is plummed funky because the teammate I set it up for was a lefty. This one was also a bit more of a pain since it was hollow all the way through. Before I started working it, I plugged one end with plumbers metal filled epoxy, and "milled" my 45* channel into that to hold it secure on the mount. Also, the screw is a bit more prominent since I didn't have as much meat to countersink into.

Another forgrip mod That i have done in the past....
Aluminum thread cap with top drilled ,then attached to rail or gun.
Then attatch what ever reg you want. Done this a few times and it looks great.
If i can locate a few pics I will post them. OSK

Thanks Robertsr, I would be interested in one of those "extras" if your willing to part with one. But I think I have a crap barrel some where that I could use to.

Thanks for the details I always thought that was a good looking front grip for a micromag.
