My First Mag Rifle

Edit; It works! Pretty pictures on page 4.

This is the only picture I've got of my mag, I picked it up from a trade from a member here. It was leaking off the bat, pretty bad, at the point where the two halves of the valve screw together. I unscrewed it and the oring looked ok, but I taped the threads anyway with Teflon. It stopped leaking on Compressed air, but when I went and tested it on CO2, it leaked again and the valve started to frost over. I'm hoping the frozen reg is why (and not some other problem) it started blowing snow out of the barrel and some shots dribbled out while others nearly blew holes in the trash can I was shooting into.

Questions;
Would this leak be caused by a seal other than the one that joins the two halves of the valve together?

Can mags run well on unregulated CO2?

If I bore and tap the little fore grip thats on the gun, would that, acting as an expansion chamber, help at all?

How would I get a magrifle to not freeze running CO2?

Are the AGD foamies specific to a certian bolt or do they work on any bolt? Are they even effective?

Heres a pic of the valve;

Its a crappy cellphone pic but its all I had time to snap before I had to leave for school yesterday.

There is supposed to be a oring that seals the halfs together, does it have that oring? If the marker has a forgrip that is not from the factory tapped to hold pressure I would assume it was not designed to. You will need a vertical adaptor and a gas thru grip.

The o-ring was there, and it didnt look too bad. I suppose an o-ring kit is in my future. Also, how is the minimag valve different from a 68 Classic valve?

There is no real difference other than lasering.

Thats what I figured just by looking. The minimag body doesnt look very mini either compared to the classic.

Classic Mags can run on CO2, but they do not like any liquid reaching the valve.Use a real expansion chamber and an anti-siphon tube if you run the tank horizontally.

1st rule of teching a Mag.
If it leaks down the barrel with the trigger pulled, you have a leak in your on/off.
If it leaks down the barrel with the trigger at rest, you have a leaking powertube.

Here is a primer:

Its actually not the on/off. Its leaking BEHIND the on/off.

I might just be dumb, however no mag I ever had liked CO2... CA and it was good to go... I would either throw a remote on her, try an expansion chamber (Which didn't really help me out) or try to find an anti-siphon tube and run that if you must use CO2. For the record, I use my tac-one in every scenario I go to so I love them, however I have never gotten any mag, mini or classic, to run consecutively on CO2.

So I hear. Dont they also like high output tanks? Something like 1000 psi? I dont want to have to buy another tank just to run a mag, so if they work well with the standard 850ish output tanks, I'll be a happy camper.
