How to properly clean bolts?

So, my pump mag broke some paint a couple weeks back, and now the paint is really tacky and sticky on the bolt and bolt spring. Would I be ok to just put those two parts in some warm water? Could I do the same for a LX bolt?

Yes, that's fine. In fact, you can clean the gun by dunking the whole thing in a bucket water.

I just turn the faucet on hot and run the parts under it. It's just a piece of stainless steel. Dry it with a paper towel afterward and then lube it by putting a single drop of oil between your thumb and index finger, then rub your fingers over the bolt and spring.

Believe it or not, sandpaper here once. Crap was caked on the bolt so bad that I had to knock it off with something serious.

Only once on an old nelson bolt covered and caked with rust. Otherwise warm water and a rag, and then drying it off immediately afterword.

Second this. AGD recommended this (marker pressurized) as the best way to do a quick clean.

Robertsr's method also works in a pinch. You really have to expend serious energy on the hardware side to make a mag not want to run.

Level 10 is stainless, just like the other good parts.

Rubbing alcohol. Been using it for years to clean my 'guns. Cleans caked on crap pretty well, dries quick, is cheap, and will open up your nasal passages.
