Z-Grip + Pump (Other unique grips as well)

Has anyone tried this? Kind of wondering what it would be like...

I am starting a project with my bare bones second hand mag and want to have a unique grip on it.

I had posted earlier asking about single trigger options and decided I am either going to get a CCM 86* or a Z-Grip (with a custom single trigger). I hope to be able to swap the marker around from semi to pump though depending on play so was curious about the "Z" with a pump.

My pump kit is on its way (XM-15 Kit) but have never held a Z-Grip before.

Cheers,

I've never seen one but I don't see why it wouldn't work. The trigger frame on a pump mag is no different than on a regular mag. I'm pretty sure XM-15 has moded a CCM 86 frame for a mag.

Something to think about if you decide to go the Z-grip route. Your hands night be awkward and it could be difficult to pump. I would suggest trying to hold a z-grip mag if possible before buying the frame.

As for switching from pump to mech, it is a breeze. Simply remove the wave spring a put on a regular bumper. You could leave the pump kit on but I would suggest against it.

I have one, Z-grip pump. Love it, play it tight against the body. Best with bunkers...

Yeah I seriously doubt I am gonna find a Z-Grip near me to try out lol.

I am the only person I know who has a Mag, and when we had our last big game with 100+ people, no one had a mag there either

I would have one, but I like Snipers more than pumpmags and all my Z-grips migrated to other projects.

They really are quite comfortable frames. They force you to play tighter.

The Rainman kit comes cut for a Z-grip, but is expensive. The XM15 kits are nice and quite a bit cheaper, I have a block for The XM15 kit that will fit with a Z-grip, let me know if you ever build on I can help you out.

Yeah I just decided to pick up the pump kit for it... I was humming and hawing for about a month as to what my next marker should be. Since I already had a beat up second hand mag I figured I would go with that.

I wasn't sure if I was ready to jump on the Sniper/Cocker bandwagon, just too many parts for my liking in semi and harder to clean (when I clean I do a complete teardown and re-lube; few hours each gameday). The only pumps I have had are a Thumper and new Trracer. I was thinking about waiting on the new CCM or getting a T2. But I am on the R7 list and am waiting for that so wasn't sure if it would take over as my pump of choice. Main reason I decided to stick with Automag was because I had one and it would be a quicker change to make it my go to Semi (I think compared to a Cocker anyways) if R7 took over.

So many options ugh, for a day or two I was looking in to building a phantom using Dukie's new stuff (DSP) but had to remind myself I have an R7 on the way lol.

. The cost was the only thing keeping me from diving at the Z-Grip, plus I can't stand double triggers so will get a custom cut single finger and install it if I do go that route.

I am really on the fence about a CCM 86* or the Z-Grip. Chances are I will go with the Z though just for the cool factor. If only I could find an Endo (name?) cradle to go with it

Either way I am going to make it a springfed whether in semi or pump setup.
